Sargassa is a Locus finalist!

I'm thrilled—but mostly gobsmacked—to announce that Sargassa made the shortlist for the Locus Award for Best First Novel.

This is a really special award, as the first round of voting is open to the public. And while there is a suggested longlist/reading list, voters are welcome to submit write-ins, so the field is really wide open.

Which is why I'm in sort of a state of shock—mainly because I actually just didn't realize that many people knew Sargassa existed in the first place.

So all this is a preamble to say THANK YOU. If you threw my weird, genre-dysphoric, unapologetically queer book a vote, thank you. The other finalists are such insane talents that the nomination itself is the only win I need.
